Safer Super Bowl Sunday
Game Day Hosting Tips

  • Offer plenty of non-alcoholic beverages for guests who choose not to drink.
  • Recruit a responsible adult to bartend and keep an eye on supplies. This will help to monitor guest consumption and prevent youth access to alcohol.
  • Serve protein and carbohydrate rich foods: meats, cheeses, breads, pastas, and crackers. Foods like these help the body metabolize alcohol more slowly.
  • Stop serving alcohol after the 3 rd quarter.
  • Limit alcohol on hand to a maximum of four servings per person (A standard drink is one 12-ounce bottle of beer or wine cooler, one 5-ounce glass of wine, or 1.5 ounces of 80-proof distilled spirits).
  • Plan activities after the game-group walk, board games, dessert-to keep guests off the road for an hour after their last drink.

Visit the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board for more great tips on holiday hosting and entertaining.
