What they say:
”The universal symbol of breast cancer awareness, the pink ribbon, will appear prominently on our Sutter Home White Zinfandel bottles. We believe this will communicate a message of hope and remind women to take a moment for themselves and schedule a mammogram or exam.”

What they don’t tell you:
Alcohol is a known human carcinogen, and drinking it is a risk factor for developing breast cancer. Women who have two to five drinks a day have about 1.5 times the risk of women who drink no alcohol.

Sutter Home Fantasy vs. Our Reality:
A study of women in Marin County, California revealed that those who consumed three drinks a day were nearly four times more likely to be diagnosed with breast cancer than those who drank less.

See Breast Cancer Action's "Think Before You Pink" campaign, which focuses on issues surrounding pink ribbon marketing.
