ABC Authorizes Liquor Licenses

California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) Announces New Liquor License Authorizations for 2004

In July 2003, the ABC issued a press release to announce the California counties whose increases in population have made them eligible to add new and transferred alcohol licenses. The news is an invitation to individuals who wish to open on-sale (restaurants) or off-sale (stores) establishments that sell alcohol to apply for one of the available licenses during the period September 8 – September 19, 2003.

This information can be very useful to you (community members, prevention advocates and interested others) in giving input about new alcohol businesses opening up in your neighborhoods.

The numbers indicated below refer to licenses available county-wide. To get more information about the number of license applications received in your community, contact your local ABC supervisor, also listed below.

For more information about the processes involved in giving local input on alcohol licenses and permits, call the Marin Institute at 415-456-5692.
