to Alan Markwood and Nancy Wisted of the Heartland Coalition for Youth and Families in Bloomington, Illinois for limiting alcohol sales at a new downtown arena. The group realized the arena would mean a large increase in the number of places that sell alcohol in a small area. With the help of consultant Carol Hays, the Coalition is now working with city council members to place conditions on alcohol sales and service inside the arena.

Recent studies have found evidence that later hours of sale increase such problems as injuries and drinking-driving incidents.
